Drafthouse is Hosting A Tim Burton Movie Party/Film Festival and it's Everything We Could Hope For

Is it Halloween-Come-Early?! Alamo Drafthouse just announced SEPTEMBURTON - a series of movies, food, dress-up screenings, and merch dedicated to the career of strangely beloved films by cinematic visionary, Tim Burton.

Get ready for food and drink inspired by his most popular films (we've got our eyes on the "Shake Shake Shake Senora," below), celebratory screenings (complete with props and costumes) of films like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Batman, and more.

Additionally, Drafthouse Productions is hosting a contest for filmmakers, a Filmmaking Frenzy dubbed "BURTONIZE THIS!" The contest runs August 15- September 6, with the winners' thirty-second bumpers premiering before select films at this year's Fantastic Fest, where Mr. Burton himself will host a special screening of his newest film, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Drafthouse offshoot Mondo - king of movie merch - will release a limited edition set of enamel pins, and an issue of Birth.Movies.Death. to commemorate the festival, featuring artwork by Burton on its cover.
